What Separates Us Apart From Our Competition?

When searching for a roofing company, you’ll be surprised by how many local companies you can find in this line of business, but one must ask: what makes a specific company stand out?

Reviews: Unlike other roofing companies, we pride ourselves on authentic customer reviews. This means that we do not pay for reviews, ask our employees or suppliers to write reviews, or ask friends or family to leave us reviews. Unfortunately, fictitious reviews have become a trending immoral practice by many new roofing companies in order to draw in more clients. Here at Elite, we are honest and transparent; all of our reviews are how our customers really feel about our services!

Experience: Another example of what sets us apart from other roofing companies is that we do not exaggerate our years in business or the insurances we carry! Our customers can always request to see our certificates of insurance to prove that we don’t carry just the bare general liability. It is sad to say, but many roofing companies tend to “stretch the truth” when it comes to their insurance; they may only have the type of insurance that covers them. This means in the event of one of their workers getting injured on your roof, they can potentially sue the homeowner! Here at Elite, we have workers' compensation and the necessary insurance required to give our customers peace of mind!

Our Customers: One thing we definitely pride ourselves on is our customers! Many of our customers are repeat customers, referrals, or simply have seen the work we performed in their own neighborhood! Here at Elite, we treat each and every one of our customers as family, which is what we feel sets us apart from our competitors!

Technology: An interesting fact about Elite Roofing is that we are the first roofing company in New Jersey to use cutting-edge technology in order to perform our inspections/estimates. When conducting an estimate, our sales team uses drones in order to take aerial photos and videos to use when writing up your specific estimates! Many companies have attempted to follow our lead, but many do not heavily invest in the latest roofing technologies that we do!

Knowledge: We also have exemplary credit with our suppliers, we own our own building in which our daily operations are held, and we carry more insurance than any of our competitors! As for Al Torrella, owner, CEO, and founder of Elite Roofing, Al studied groundwater hydrology in college in which he uses the knowledge from that for leak detection!

Ratings: The list goes on! In addition to all of the wonderful things mentioned prior, we are also the top-rated roofing company in Hudson County. We are top-rated on NextDoor, ThreeBestRated, Google, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB), so you know you can trust our Google reviews!

Reliability: We are reliable and value our reputation highly. We don’t and will not leave you high and dry in the event there is an issue- you’ll know exactly where to find us! We don’t start what we can’t finish, so you know you’ll be getting the best possible care you can find in Hudson County! Whenever we discuss estimates or future jobs with our clients, we are sure to give them the full rundown of what our work entails so there are no surprises!

Licensed: When a company says they're licensed and insured, are they really? We recommend that when you are planning on hiring any contractor or company you should always check the consumer affairs website, https://www.consumeraffairs.com/, to verify if a company's license is active.

Permits: Does the company your hire perform work without the necessary permits according to your town's code? Work performed without a permit often results in the homeowner being fined and not the contractor, which is something you shouldn't need to worry about when working with a contractor! Work done without a permit will be a problem if you, the homeworker, ever wish to sell your home in the future. Unfortunately, you cannot sell your home if it is not up to code.

Now that you know what separates our business from the others, we expect you to keep your standards high for any company you hire to perform work on your home!

In the event you’re located outside Hudson County, we’ve composed a list of some extra questions to ask yourself before hiring a contractor:

Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Hire A Contractor:

1. How long are they in business?

  • As always, a company that is in business for a long amount of time means extra experience, which we feel is a must!

2. Do they have too many reviews for the amount of time they are in business?

  • If new companies have more reviews than established businesses, this may be an indication of fraudulent/fake reviews.

3. Do they have complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Consumer Affairs, or any Fines?

  • Although obvious, many people often overlook reviews from the BBB or other official records of fines/violations which can indicate major issues within a business. Would you want someone with multiple violations working on your home?

4. Do they have a criminal background or are under criminal investigation?

  • Unfortunately, many businesses still operate even during these events which are not only untrustworthy but can indicate a company fleeing in the middle of a job. Luckily, you can do a background check or inquire with your local law enforcement to make sure you're hiring someone you can trust. Can you imagine giving a company your deposit and then finding out your contractor is in jail and can no longer perform the work? Will you even get your money back?

5. Are they adequately staffed?

  • The last thing you’ll want is a job to take way longer than expected. When hiring a contractor, you’ll want to make sure they have enough help/workers to perform your job as originally planned.

6. Will you be able to find your contractor after the job is completed?

  • Many people tend to overlook the fact that after a contractor's job is complete, there may be a possibility of extra necessary repairs and/or future work. You should ask yourself if their company will still be in business in years to come in the event there are any issues with the work performed.
